More than 5,000 rubber ducks went for a swim in the River Irwell this Easter weekend, helping to raise £15,000 for Brainwave, a charity that helps children with brain injuries and genetic conditions by providing home-based exercise programmes
Thousands turned out to support the Manchester Duck Race in Spinningfields, which was launched by Shameless star Tina Malone.
Of all the ducks that went for a swim, it was our own GödelTech's little Utka The Duck that won the race.
Utka became something of an internet celebrity over the last few weeks, even posting regular updates on Twitter. Pass on your congratulations to @GodelDuck
Commenting on his win, Utka said: "Thank you to everyone who has supported me during my strenuous training period and came to cheer on the day. This is the beginning of a long career in event racing for me and I look forward to many more wins in the future. Big thanks to my sponsor, GödelTech, too.
