Riverhorse launches Manchester Vision

Manchester production company Riverhorse is today launching its new not-for-profit initiative, Manchester Vision, with a film about Moss Side’s Mothers Against Violence.

Manchester Vision is a pioneering media project that helps promote the work of individuals, organisations and campaigns that are working towards positive change across the Manchester City-Region.

The project involves the production and distribution of a series of online videos with the aim of promoting awareness, furthering understanding and generating support for the positive efforts being made by people to support positive change, often outside the headlines.

As well as being available to view on the project website, www.manchestervision.tv, the short documentaries will be available for use by the featured organisations’ and campaigns. The films will also be published on the Manchester Evening News' site and shared through a variety of social media channels.

The films are being produced by Manchester video production company, Riverhorse as part of its effort to make a positive contribution to the region where it’s based.

Riverhorse Director Mike Todd stated: “We wanted to try and put something back into the community and decided we should stick to what we know best. Our hope is that the films we produce, even in a small way, can help generate additional support and understanding for the often unheralded work that goes on in and around Greater Manchester.”

Following on from the Mothers Against Violence (MAV) film, there are a number of additional features already planned. However, the Manchester Vision team are keen to receive input and ideas on deserving projects and causes that might benefit from some free promotion.

As social media will form an important part of the initiative, those who support the work Manchester Vision are trying to do are being asked to like the project on Facebook www.facebook.com/ManchesterVision, follow #mcrvision on Twitter – and share the online videos with colleagues and friends.

The MAV film can be seen here: http://manchestervision.tv
