PRWD inspire others with Adobe AIR

A Manchester digital usability company’s experience with the new Adobe AIR platform for delivering desktop-based applications was put under the spotlight at a recent Manchester Digital event.

The event, entitled ‘Developing With Adobe AIR’, was aimed at providing delegates with an introduction to Adobe AIR as well as inspiring the audience to develop future projects.

Rob Knight, Lead Technical Architect at PRWD Ltd, which is based at One Central Park in North East Manchester, discussed how PRWD used the new platform to develop a tailored IT system for manufacturers looking to modernise their processes.

“PRWD specialise in developing web applications and software development services with a user-centred design approach,” Rob explained.

“Using Adobe AIR, we have been able to build on our existing skills to deliver a tailored web application in record time, rapidly building a prototype, testing it and improving it in multiple iterations for each customer,” Rob added.

The ‘Developing With Adobe AIR’ event, organised by digital industry trade association Manchester Digital in June, included a keynote address by Andrew Shorten, Platform Evangelist for Adobe.

Andrew showcased how both consumer brands and enterprise organisations are using the platform to engage with their customers via the web, desktop and mobile devices.
