Manchester based Independent Power Engineering Company (IPEC) Ltd has appointed Dr. David North as Non-Executive Chair of the company.
Dr. North, former Executive Director of LEM Holding SA and President of LEM Instruments, joins Manchester Science Parks (msp) based IPEC to advise on a strategic growth plan for the company, including attracting potential investors. Dr. North has significant international experience in the business development of small companies, as well as in acquisitions and divestments.
Commenting on Dr. North’s appointment, Tony Hepton, IPEC managing director, said: “We are delighted that Dr. North has joined IPEC in this capacity. His reputation in, and rich knowledge of, the market sector is incomparable and will aid us greatly in developing our strategic plan for the company’s expansion over the next few years.
“It’s an exciting time for IPEC at the moment; we have had some high profile contract wins, which we will be announcing soon, and we are undertaking a lot of work on a global scale. David’s role will be to guide us through this period of expansion and help find investment from the right areas to fund it.”
IPEC was founded in 1994 to bridge the gap between cutting-edge power engineering research and practical application in the field. It continues to be an innovator in the field of partial discharge technology products with key clients including EDF Energy, Freescale and TSMC.
IPEC’s current technologies give advance warning of high voltage plant failure, providing the highest level of security against unplanned breaks in electricity supply; keeping both cost and energy efficiencies at optimum levels.
Dr. North added: “I’m very pleased to be joining IPEC and look forward to working with Tony to shape the company’s business strategy. I’m confident that, with its already solid client base and innovative service offering, IPEC has fantastic potential for growth and will be an attractive prospect for investors.”
