Manchester software development firm Gödel Technologies Europe Ltd has merged with Velum Ltd, a London based management consulting firm specialising in information systems implementation.
The combined company will be known under the name Gödel Technologies and will have its Head Office at Manchester Science Park with a sales office in London and a development centre at the Belarusian High Tech Park in Minsk.
Terry Bland, Gödel’s Managing Director, explained: “Gödel provide high quality software development services while Vellum’s focus is on content management and customer relations systems so bringing the two companies together seemed a perfect fit.”
According to Terry, the merger will give Gödel a combined turnover of approximately £2million for 2009/10 as well as increasing staff numbers to 55 with Terry planning to recruit more staff in the future.
Terry continued: “When I bought Gödel Technologies in 2005, there were six staff and in just four years we have managed to grow the business year on year to a point where, over the next two years, I plan to have between 100 to 150 staff working for Gödel across Europe.
“The merger with Velum is already starting to open up new opportunities for Gödel Technologies, enabling us to offer our clients a broader service and ensuring we keep one step ahead of the competition,” Terry concluded.
Gödel’s client list includes Oxfam, the National Confederation of Parent Teachers Association (NCPTA), Adoption UK and the Norwegian company ADB Systemer.
