FUTURE JOBS in Salford: work experience placements

Future Jobs is an exciting service which matches private sector employers with suitable candidates for work experience placements. Usually three months, the placements are for entry level jobs and the candidate receives a weekly salary at national minimum wage paid by Salford City Council (SCC).

The service is part of the city’s commitment to help residents who have been unemployed into sustained jobs or apprenticeships. Candidates will have received comprehensive support to develop key competencies and skills to ensure they’re ready to enter the workforce and make a valued contribution to your organisations.

There is whole host of benefits for employers which could save you time and money:

  • SCC can fill your vacancies for entry level jobs free of charge
  • SCC will pay their wages at national minimum wage for up to three months (including HR and payroll functions)
  • You’ll get motivated, work ready candidates who have already undertaken employer focused training
  • Quality candidates matched to suit your business needs
  • Save money and time on selection and recruitment
  • Low risk – ‘try before you buy’ ‘working interview’ approach for current vacancies
  • Get those tasks done you’ve not had the resources to complete
  • Grow your own talent by shaping the candidates to the way your organisation works
  • Enhance your corporate social responsibility policies by recruiting locally and making a real difference to somebody’s life – help them get into work
